ITB students have just returned from their hugely successful annual volunteer trip to Tanzania in Africa. The 17 students were from our Sports Management and Coaching, Business and Social and Community Development courses. |
Each of the volunteer groups finished off their respective projects by providing the people that work and live there out with some much needed goods, services and resources. These items included maize seed, corn seen, chicken feed, 20 chickens, a new cooking stove, stationery good (copies, pencils, colouring books, maths copies, etc.) |
The volunteers had a great time outside of their volunteering projects and at the weekend could take in the local culture and embrace the amazing backdrops that Tanzania had to offer. They enjoyed weekend trips to the natural hot spring (water heated from the earth), visited one of Tanzania's natural waterfalls, and even managed to enjoy a 2 day safari to visit Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro crater, where wild animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes, black rhinos and baboons to name a few, naturally roam the panoramic landscapes. |
Our students who volunteered in Africa include Lorna Osborne-Ryan, Fiona Kiely, Louise Andrews, Karen Lambe, Keith Byrne, Conall Walsh, Stephanie Sheridan, Keith Mc Namara, Karen Lew, Rebecca Haughon, Darragh Mc Gill, Sinead Byrne, Sarah Lambe, John Harrington, Jane Lowe, Adam Crowther, Andrew Grehan. |
